“. . . that was just psychosis”.. . . .words from a fellow MPD victim, who is getting ‘professional help’ from the shrinky-dink nut-knockers. (Do what works for you, eh? But look around . . . question what they are doing. I learned; they know LITTLE about this stuff!)
After 30 years of shrinks, drugs, meds, liquor – you name it – not working, we decided to go the other way and EMBRACE ourselves – or as the shrink’s would say “Lock this nut-job UP and throw away the KEY!”.
Been there, done that. Gave it up about 8, 9 years ago when it wasn’t working (made me even SICKER, caused fights, severe problems with outside world). Plus, I lost my really cool job designing factories for a major firm (along with everything else – including health insurance – took 4 years to get SSDI and Medicare going – go figure. National Healthcare my eye (look at them! Bloodshot and red! Staring! Someone LOCK THIS MADMAN UP!) Just kiddin’ . . .
But … imagine staring at down the rest of my life (or “row to hoe”, as Mr. Jeffery says) – and it gets to looking pretty ugly: one-twenty-fourth alive, the rest NOT (or as shrinks like to say ‘buried’, an apt term). Sooo…. we have “embraced” our so-called ‘psychosis’ with open and welcoming arms. (Okay, I can feel some of my monomind audience out there shivering. Hey, this is COOL, a good thing – just DON’T persecute me when I walk up, shake you hand and say: “Hi! We’re glad to meet cha!”
NOT saying it’s a good thing; just that it is, and as part of my System’s effort to survive: we have turned the other cheek and are looking the other way – and seeing stars (in a good sense) – which has encouraged us to say: Go ahead, this is GOOD for ‘us’, and is a better step towards healing than the psychiatrists approach, which was “subdue, tame, then bury and get rid of” (walk away).
Didn’t help: Like a Hollywood movie, the monsters just kept rising back out of their graves again. I guess when you are confronted by a bunch of Zombies (okay, they are NOT dead-heads like zombies, but we ARE prepared for the Zombie Apocalypse, LOL!) – you’re better to recruit them to YOUR side and make them work for YOU rather than trying to bury (and/or) numb them up again – or numb YOURSELF up to the point you don’t ‘see’ them anymore and they come in ‘the night’ (of drug induced darkness) – and eat your brains out. (Jeez, I hope all this symbolism is either real cool, or not too annoying!).
Anyway – we’ve chosen that route: embrace the madness, if that’s what it takes to get a more tightly integrated system which works more efficiently than it ever has. I don’t trust shrinks anymore: too limited experience, whereas I have had 8 yrs psych training (shudder – from age 13-18, science experiment by DAD) – plus a whole lifetime of experience. Now tell me; who is going to know more (IMO) – me or them. Of course, having been betrayed by one shrinky-dink 2 times in a row (tho’ she DID give me ONE tool for our toolchest),
We have decided to BE who I AM: which is Mutliple minds – and not only not MINDING it, but embracing the concept wholeheartedly. As a result in the past 3 to 7 days, I’ve made more progress towards being happy and productive than in the past 30 some-odd years. Go figure; you can see where I’m going here. Strange but true, as Ripley said. We are getting ‘smarter’ as components come together, share data, love one another, cooperate towards overall system function – rather than fighting all the time.
Enuff said for now: your friends, The Scientists and Professor, along with a little help from Elvis – and Controller in the background watching over all our shoulders. (still makes THREE, mind sighs in relief, knowing that is the max limit ‘up top’ for functional control). Weird, huh? But I’m lovin’ it. Only thing is: WE are scared to DEATH of being ‘outed’ on this, publicly speaking. (Your opinion on this is valued.)
Okay, too long
Sincerely, JW et all.
PS: Shrinks call them “alters” They are NOT alters, they are “others”, living souls to me (but unlike Zombies, they don’t even BREATH). Just a personal opinion based upon negative connotations from past experiences.
