If you haven’t heard already, some 4th graders were charged with attempted rape. You can click on the link to read the article, but it’s not this story which upsets me. It’s the comments which have been made.
At the risk of copyright infringement, I have posted some of them here – and, by the way, these seem to reflect at least half of views (when the commentators aren’t arguing among themselves):

Help!?! HELP!?! Have you lost your mind? There is no help for garbage like this. They will get off with little or no punishment and will be right back in the public school system destroying the lives of their classmates until they graduate to crimes that result in prison sentences by the age of 14 or 15. They will never contribute a single thing to society and will be a drain until they die sometime in their 20s. But until their deaths, they will leave a bloody trail of robberies and rapes and killings.”

And so on . . .
Can you see it? Can you HEAR it?
These are people who, like the extreme Muslim radicals, advocate punishing and treating children as full grown adults. They have already thrown in the towel on these children – claiming that they are irreparably damaged; that they will become adult abusers, and there is no hope for them – therefore they should be hung, deballed, and raped by other men (in prison).

And so it goes. If you were to put the comments which DEAL with this in a blender, you would find a voice of hatred and revenge. You would find the true ‘human beings’. The victim is “damaged beyond repair” (echoed again and again in those comments).
HUFFPOST SUPER USER walkingwolf . . . .it will have scarred him emotionally beyond repair . . .”So I’ll tell you what. Why not victimize the victim some more! – by assuming that since HE was raped and sexually abused he will go on to rape and sexually abuse others – according to these (and many other) ignorant folks. And those who raped him – well, “they need jailed”. “They need castrated.” “Little monsters”. (That last one, by the way, is something my mom used to call us little kids.)
It makes me sick – not just the crime, for I feel for ALL these boys – but the ways people and SOCIETY are responding – with hatred and vehemence. “Hate the sin, not the sinner” – isn’t that supposed to be the CHRISTIAN attitude? Noooo . . . lets go on and hang them all . . . let Jesus do the forgiving because we’re gonna F them up again – right???
But then again, most of the world’s view is not Christian. So go ahead – go on a jihad – hurt the victims some more – condemn not only THEM, but THEIR victim to a lifetime of abuse. Why not? They’ve been abused before – what’s a little more? And plus (if you go by the comments) – they deserve it. A bunch of bull if you ask me. These kids need help, not condemnation; they are going to have a difficult time – why add to the weight of their burden by ‘abusing’ them some more?????
I hate this – and I hate our damned society -for surely it is damned when not only “this”, the abuse went on – but when people react to child-on-child abuse in such a way. “Don’t help them: just hurt them some more.” Yeah, that’s society for ya. Screwing you in the end, the beginning, and all down in between.
Just like YOU (society) has done me. For no good reason at all – other than the fact I was abused.
Go on. Victimize the victims. And pray that you are not a victim yourself, for in THIS society you are going to hell – and if not, they’ll put you there anyway.
’nuff said.
I’m sick of this stuff.
