Photography and Publishing On Google Earth / Google Maps

What I’ve been up to lately (actually a few years): posting photos for others to enjoy, and/or inform on Google Maps/Earth, using the Panoramio site.  Here’s some:

“The Globe”
Savannah GA

Under the Factor’s Walk
Savannah, GA

Mepkin Abbey, SC

Cruise Ship Channel Outlet
Cape Canaveral, FL

Capers Island
Charleston, SC

My Yard. One Day. Blue Skies. 🙂

So that’s what I’ve been up to – creating panoramas using MS ICE, uploading to other sites (there’s a lot more), and posting things like this one:

A Midnight Visitor

. . . because we pay a lot of attention to the little stuff . . .

Mosquito Eggs from the Birdbath

. . . it’s the little stuff we ‘see’ . . .

Wild Iris In Woods, 1/2 Inch tall

or sometimes the Big Picture so you can know what you will see – if you happen to go there . . .

Panorama of Charlotte Amalie Harbor
~ the Caribbean ~

I’ve found it useful sometimes when I use the virtual tools (such as Google Earth or Google Maps) to ‘see’ via online what it there, get an idea.  And I know I’ve posted photos others find useful (one has over 10,000 views) as well as things others haven’t seen.

Amber Waterfall
Embedded Amber “Waterfall” with Water Flowing over.

But as time has gone by (I’ve been on Panoramio for several years) I’ve noticed an upwards trend in finding thing others haven’t documented, or seeing the familiar in a new kind of way . . .

But there’s a whole world of things out there, and I still enjoy presenting “sides” and behind the scenes scenes that people typically don’t see . . .

A Canyon In Arizona While Gold Prospecting With A Friend . . .

After all . . . I’d like to think I take pictures for something besides something to do . . . it’s nice to think they may benefit someone else, too!

Sincerely,
Jeff and Crew
