I’ve been pretty busy lately.  WE’ve been pretty busy here laterly (that’s an intentional mispelling, one of my children’s favorite words) . . . so what’ve ‘we’ been doing?

Laterly (or lately) my friends and I (I’m talking about my alters, adult ‘host’ being here) have been working on Fall issues.

Fall is a very busy time for me.  So is spring.  That’s when ‘I’ the adult alter gets to come out more – working around the house, the gardens, that sort of thing.

I walk three miles every day for health – getting my cigarettes.  I don’t know if one thing cancels out the other, but this body of mine is getting old – and quicker than hell.  Part of it is my Marine Corps injuries.  The nerves on the right side are getting to me.  My backs all chewed up with scar tissue (unseen) from too many repairs.

My grandkids ask me how I got those lumps and dips in my back; that bent shoulder bone.

I got my granddaughter back – or at least one of them.  The rest are scattered to the winds.  That’s a good thing.  She was in a bad situation.  No three year old kid should have to support their momma. That’s just not a good thing.  Using the child support to pay the rent – and then for her mom’s things – that’s just wrong.  There should be some method of accounting held to momma’s with custody of children who are getting child support that shows where every dime owed goes.  And none should be beer, drugs, or her boyfriend’s (multiple ones) cars.

We’ve done a lot of traveling.  Went to Savannah a few weekends ago.  I don’t usually advertise when I’m going somewhere (unless someones gonna be at home).  Security issues.  But there’s a world out there.

Went and spent some time on River Street.  Not much happening there – until that evening, we we had an accidental “Festivaling” – as we call these things where we go somewhere and (to our surprise) there’s something happening there . .

Then went to Tybee Island – just because.

Not that I was going swimming.  Not in THAT ocean.  There’s sharks out there!

Savannah, you see, is set in a coastal marsh – there is no beach in Savannah.  You’ve got to go out to the islands.  Of course there is Hilton Head – if you wanna spend a lot of money and stare at some golf courses and closed neighborhoods.  Or there are the islands.

Hunting Island is my most favorite one.

But we didn’t go there.  Not this time.  I find it gentle and relaxing – and the inside of the island can be mysterious . . . wonderful . . . beautiful.  (and muggy, scorching hot, and full of bugs as well.)

We had a Pumpkin Party again this year, courtesy of my daughter who has launched a tradition of us grownups getting together.

We’ve learned to get pretty good with the designs . . .

And we’ve learned a lot more about keeping them around – things like rubbing their cuts with Vasoline and spraying them down with bleach water every couple of days.  Two of ours lasted until July last year! tho’ to tell the truth they were but dried husks of themselves . . . but still amazingly scary – scarier than when we’d carved them.

Gardening occupies a fair bit of the fall and spring.  It’s the time for me to gather seeds for my flowers next year.  Each year is a learning experience.  But I enjoy the results that the learning brings . . .

I’ve learned Zinnas do well, as well as my “Halloween Flowers”, the orange and red hued Marigolds which are friendly friends to the tiny frogs that live within them . . .

And despite the time of year, the lizards were getting it on . . .

I just wonder how many people found that “shocking”.  Would you have preferred I Photoshop some clothes on?  (Did you know where once was an association whose goal was to cloth all animal kind?  It was mostly made of women . . . go figure.  Nude cows in the yard.)

As far as therapy – apparently I’m taking a rest break, but feel like somethings going on . . . more like resting and recounting while I get some jobs done.

Until later.

Everyone.
